Me and a friend of mine both spend 2 weeks in Sylvia's home. We were feeling at home since the first day we arrived, even my frind decided to stay there for longer. In the morning you have homemade muffins or scones for breakfast and dinners are homemade as well. We spend lots of hours in the kitchen talking with Sylvia an her husband and that is what makes you feel very good in this house, you feel integrated. So if you want to live near Cork city but not in a hostel and without paying expensive stayins, this home is one of the best options you have!

I stayed with Slyvia and her family for 5 weeks this spring. I arrived in May and from my first day, Slyvia and her family made sure I had an enjoyable and memorable stay in Cork, Ireland. Slyvia makes delicious fresh scones and muffins. She is generous and fun. She is an inspiration, she goes out of her way to accommodate and help her guests. The entire family is warm and fun. They gave me a true feeling of a real Irish family. Because of Slyvia and her help i got to visit Cobh, Cross Haven, Kerry, Kinsale and Kilarney.. Slyvia's home is in close proximity to the city and a short walking distance from the bus station. It is a few minute walk from the closest town, Carrigaline which is convenient and handy. The minute you step foot in Slyvia's home, you will feel at home..

I lived with this family for almost a year, in this time I perfected my english, I attended University College Cork, this family did so much with me, I got to see Kinsale, Cobh, Blarney, Shandon Bells and so much more,
In this house Sylv does alot of baking and we had hot Muffins, Scones for breakfast some mornings, this is a really great family and I had a really good stay

I was staying for 4 months with Sylv and her family in summer 2008. I spent a lot of time together with the whole family, like: having dinner together, shopping, spending nice evenings in the back garden and so one. For me it was one of my best summer in my life, we had so much nice time together and had a lot fun. If I wanted, I could stay in my room or also in the kitchen or in the living room. The three kids are really lovely and I spent a lot of time together with them.
There was always something going on in the house, so I nearly never felt lonely or annoyed.

During these 4 moths I did a stage at the University of Cork and I was 27 years old. I was happy to stay more in the nature then in the city centre of Cork. It was easy to come to Cork by bus, but it took nearly one hour from Carrigaline to the University of Cork.
Near the house is a little shop and also to the town centre is not too far.

I have been in three different Homestays, and this last one has been absolutely amazing. All members of the family try to make you feel at ease there. It is true that Sue is the person I spent the most of the time with, but because the children had their own friends and classes. Mac was working so I met up him when he arrived, but he always asked me for my day, just to force me to speak. I did many things with Sue such as baking, distribute her muffins or cakes, cooking... I did enjoy there. Anna was the youngest child and I had a really good experienced by living with her because she was always with me and we spent our time doing gymnastics, playing tennis, doing origami...too many things.

I have only good words about my experience in Cork.

After 2 non-succesful homestays in Ireland, I found this awesome family who made me feel like home. They helped me so much with everything I had any trouble with...
The house is pretty big and clean with a nice garden, I had a really nice bedroom for myself with which made my studies easier.
Food was also good thanks to Sylvia.
I had lots of fun with the 'kids' who were very nice with me, letting me play and do stuff with them.
Although the dad of the family Sean, maybe sometimes didn't seem so friendly, he is a very kind man at the bottom :)

I only have nice memories about my 6 months stay at Sylvi's, you will not be dissapointed with this choice.
